Saturday September 12, Bloody Elbow presents fight coverage of Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto. Showtime Boxing's High Stakes: Mayweather vs. Berto airs live on PPV Saturday, September 12. Bloody Elbow will have live fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
If Mayweather is to be believed (and really, why would you ever doubt him?), this will be his final fight as a pro boxer. He'll hope to extend his unbeaten record to 49-0 and walk off into the sunset as the undisputed king of this era. In his way? Andre Berto, a fighter who is 3-3 in his last 6, is universally seen as being past his prime, and who Ring Magazine does not even rank as a top 10 Welterweight. To be clear, Andre Berto is a talented boxer, but is he the kind of boxer that the best of our time should be facing in his alleged swan-song? The answer there is clear. Perhaps the real question of this fight will be how many fans tune in to see this based purely on the Mayweather name, and the allure of his possible last fight.
Those who do tune in will at least be treated to a very good undercard. Also on the PPV broadcast is Roman Martinez vs. Orlando Salido and Badou Jack vs George Groves in a pair of quality fights. The PPV opener is a potentially very fun action fight between Jhonny Gonzalez and Jonathan Oquendo. Tune in for the full event for this one fight fans.
Join us here at Bloody Elbow for Mayweather vs. Berto results, discussion, and live fight coverage, Saturday, September 12.
