UFC welterweight Nick Diaz turned himself in to police officials on Thursday morning to serve his jail sentence for two DUI cases.
According to TMZSports, Diaz turned himself in to San Joaquin County Jail at 10:11 AM PT and will be released the following day. Diaz was expected to face a longer stint in jail but decided to strike a plea bargain where he pled no contest to DUI with .08 or higher, which led to three charges being dropped, including the second DUI. This eventually led to a two-day jail sentence, but he was also given credit for one day served, which left him with just one night remaining from his sentence.
It should also be noted that Diaz is also currently temporarily suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for testing positive for marijuana metabolites in his UFC 183 post-fight drug test.
TZMSports also added that Diaz got 3 years of informal probation and is required to complete a DUI educational course.
