Tweet of the Day: Donald Cerrone responds to Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor made some recent comments about Donald Cerrone and his paychecks. As expected, it didn't take Cowboy long to respond.

Donald Cerrone will challenge Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight title in December, and this little tidbit earned him the attention of one Conor McGregor. The interim featherweight champ recently stated that he'd be moving to lightweight soon, and after grandstanding about how much money he makes, he took a shot at how little he thought Cerrone and Dos Anjos made. Here's his exact quote:

I wouldn't want to fight a lightweight guy to get the numbers because who the f---, Rafael (dos Anjos) has nothing, Donald (Cerrone) has nothing," McGregor said. "Rafael will be looking to make six figures this fight, and rightfully so. He shouldn't even make six figures, because he doesn't even bring in six figures. Donald will scrape six figures because he shows up and fights every couple of weeks. But he don't earn much more than that."

You can always count on Cowboy to have a comeback, and it didn't take him long to fire up his Twitter account and send this out:

Cerrone has previously offered himself up as Conor's first lightweight opponent, bluntly stating that he'd 'slap the sh*t out of him'.

McGregor meets Jose Aldo in a featherweight title unification bout on December 12th at UFC 194. Cerrone will fight for the lightweight title at UFC on Fox 17 on December 19th.
