His suspension will not be up for another few months, but that has not stopped Anderson Silva from looking ahead and even talking about his upcoming UFC fight. The 40-year-old said in an interview at Fight Night Dagestan on Fight Pass that his return would happen in April of 2016, and already has an established opponent.
"I think I fight in Curitiba, in April, on the same card Fabricio Werdum fights Cain Velasquez. I think my opponent will be Michael Bisping, I can't remember very well, I think it's him." (Via Combate)
That would mean Anderson would be fighting in Brazil again for the first time since his TKO win over Stephan Bonnar in October of 2012, but also for the first time in his hometown of Curitiba. Werdum wanted to return sooner than April, and the UFC hasn't formally announced when his title rematch with Velasquez will happen.
As for Michael Bisping, he wrote on his Facebook he hasn't heard the news, but is still game for a fight against The Spider.
"First (time) I've heard (of the news). Just leave the Viagra out of it and I'm in."
But before thinking of potentially getting his coveted fight with Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping will first have to deal with Robert Whittaker at UFC 193.
