Will Brooks rips Bellator for perceived lack of respect

Will Brooks isn't impressed that fighters coming over from the UFC are seemingly getting more respect than the old guard in Bellator.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks is no stranger to speaking his mind on Twitter, and last night was no exception. During Bellator's Dynamite event, Brooks took to social media to discuss his dissatisfaction with what happened after the main event of the show. It then turned into a much bigger rant, slamming the promotion for what he perceives as a lack of respect for the guys that have been around the promotion before a recent influx of UFC talent.

First, he stuck up for Bellator light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary after his post-fight interview was hijacked by former UFC fighters Tito Ortiz and Phil Davis:

He then stated that it wasn't Jimmy Smith's fault, but the champ deserves more respect. McGeary's easygoing personality was brought up, and Brooks was blunt about defending McGeary if he won't defend himself:

Then he got started on Bellator's promotion:

He did try to wrap it up with some humor at least:

He then added another amusing one this morning:

Brooks returns to the cage to defend his title against Marcin Held at Bellator 145 on November 6th.
