Frank Mir isn't too thrilled about fighting Andrei Arlovski at UFC 191 this weekend. "I think we both have a lot to offer the sport and I don't want to see either one of us derailed right now", Mir said in an interview last month. The former heavyweight champion isn't too moved by internet trolls, either.
Mir and Arlovski have both battled through adversity and early retirement calls to persevere as top UFC contenders. In 2004, Mir was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that nearly ended his MMA career and Arlovski was pressured into retirement by fans and coaches after a series of crushing losses in 2009/2010.
Prior to KO'ing Todd Duffee and Antonio Silva, Frank Mir suffered four consecutive losses and was the subject of online criticism. The 36-year-old now has a message to the online trolls: "Your life sucks." Per Fighthub - from 14:53.
"All you people out there that wanna sit on the computer and be unhappy that your life sucks, so you think everybody else when they go out there and you see them on the side of the road and, you know your personality types - you sit there and you see that guy jogging, who's 40 lbs. overweight and you make a joke, like 'yea buddy, nice try'...It's like no, that dude's out there trying," Mir said.
"Whether he fails and the next day he doesn't show up because he's sore, but you know what, in a week he'll try again. Stop being that guy that throws insults or be that guy and be miserable and I feel bad for you because you really have the worst life of all."
Frank Mir will collide with Andrei Arlovski this Saturday on September 5th at UFC 191 to determine the next top heavyweight contender at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
