Jose Aldo has been drug tested ahead of his UFC 194 featherweight title unification bout with Conor McGregor, and this time there's no controversy surrounding the issue.
Prior to UFC 189, when 'Scarface' was originally scheduled to clash with McGregor, the Brazilian was bombarded with criticism following a dubious urine sample the champ submitted to Ben Mosier.
Mosier, from Drug Free Sport lab, was sent by the Nevada Athletic Commission to conduct a random drug test on Aldo but was detained by a Brazilian police officer after Jose's coach grew suspicious of the official.
Nova Uniao coach Andre Pederneiras alerted The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), and it was revealed that Mosier didn't have licensed working visa. Aldo had initially submitted a urine sample to Mosier, but it was discarded after the tester was deemed unauthorized to work in Brazil following his visa issues. The featherweight kingpin submitted another sample the next day to a WADA accredited official.
Yesterday, Jose Aldo took to Instagram to reveal that he'd been drug tested - with the USADA paperwork to prove it.
"Hey, Irish sucker! Have you already done your drug test or they don't have it in Ireland ? I DID IT TODAY! I wanna do it again next week! How about you ? Are you ready for it, you punk ?!?," the caption read.
The two featherweight rivals had previously launched PED accusations at each other, with Conor McGregor more recently referring to the Brazilian as a "little weasel", following his previous drug testing controversy in Brazil.
Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor will engage in a title unification bout at UFC 194 on December 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
