UFC fighter: Miesha Tate didn't get Rousey fight because of boyfriend Caraway

UFC bantamweight Aljamain Sterling had an interesting (facetious?) response as to why Miesha Tate didn't get a title shot vs. Ronda Rousey.

UFC bantamweight Aljamain Sterling is an outspoken character on Twitter, and the rising star has been angling for a fight with Bryan Caraway seemingly for months now. Due to a litany of injuries in the division, the UFC hasn't been able to book Sterling since his big win over Takeya Mizugaki, and an otherwise healthy top 10 talent may only get to compete just once this year.

It is on that note that we tie-in Bryan Caraway's turning down of fight offers to his girlfriend, Miesha Tate, not getting her virtually guaranteed title shot vs. Ronda Rousey. "Wait what?" Exactly. Caraway apparently turned down a fight with Urijah Faber, and Sterling vs. Caraway hasn't been so much as rumored for a UFC event. On Monday morning, Sterling teased "inside info" and then stated that Caraway not accepting fights is what caused Tate to lose her title shot to Holly Holm.

But wait! Aljamain also adds that Dana White told him exactly what he relayed.

The two instantly obvious interpretations one could have are:

1.) Sterling is telling the truth and that the UFC is so petty and childish that their response to one fighter turning down fights is to punish the girlfriend of said fighter. (Dana White would deny the quotes regardless of its validity anyway)

2.) Sterling is kidding around and is saying it to drum up more interest in a fight with Caraway.

I side with the 2nd option myself, but whatever the case, it's certainly a very interesting tweet that will definitely get fans talking one way or the other, which benefits Sterling as he remains without a scheduled fight.
