We don't know if that's a compliment, but a baby llama in a Brazilian safari park has been named after UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Guest's of the Portobello Resort and Safari had the honor to to decide, if the newborn would be named after the UFC superstar or popular Brazilian soap opera character "Angel".
"Usually when an animal is born at the Portobello safari, an animal which has a slightly longer gestation, we select the two most talked names in that period as a tribute," a Portobello told MMA Fighting. "In this case, Ronda was the name chosen by guests."
Incredible 80 percent of the guests voted for Rousey, which shows how well known the UFC superstar is in Brazil. It remains the question, if people voted Rousey out of admiration or dislike. I mean, a llama is still a llama. It's not like it is a wild tiger or a beautiful peacock or something along those lines. The former Olympian recently destroyed Brazil's Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in just 34 seconds. Now she is set to take on former boxing world champion Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia on November 15.
After all is said and done and Rousey has defended her belt for the seventh time, as many believe she will, maybe the Australians will name a kangaroo after her.
