Invicta FC 14 results and highlights: Evinger dominates Kianzad in non-title main event

Check out the results and highlights from Saturday night's Invicta FC 14 show in Kansas City, Missouri.

Scott Hirano, Invicta FC

Invicta FC 14 is all wrapped up, and while the main event between Tonya Evinger and Pannia Kianzad ended up being non-title (due to Kianzad missing weight), bantamweight champion Evinger impressed nonetheless. Evinger (17-5) brutalized the Swede with ground-and-pound from quarter guard, then later mount to force a stoppage from referee John McCarthy. Kianzad (8-1) sees her undefeated record end, and Evinger's real big win was making weight on her 2nd attempt on Friday to assure that her belt would remain with her after Saturday night. The "Gator don't play no sh*t" quote from Tonya is a meme in the making.

Elsewhere, DeAnna Bennett (8-0) kept her unbeaten record intact with a decision win over former Invicta strawweight champion Katja Kankaanpaa. Bennett did miss weight by 1.5 lbs, so questions about her title shot aspirations in the division still remain. Meanwhile, the popular Roxanne Modafferi (18-12) picked up another win by thoroughly beating down Mariana Morais until a series of elbows resulted in a last minute stoppage.

Perhaps the best finish on the card was JJ Aldrich's spectacular series of knees on Rosa Acevedo, who collapsed in a crumpled heap. A few more punches finished the fight, but in all honesty, Acevedo was done the moment Aldrich landed the knee to the body and then more knees to the head-shaped part of the body.

Oh, and just one more thing. Rachel Wiley made her pro debut last night and got crushed, but the lasting image anyone will have out of her fight with Felicia Spencer is the humongous hematoma she had on her.
