Mayweather vs Berto results live: Rounds 1-3 results and recap

Tonight, Floyd Mayweather competes in what he claims will be his final fight as a professional boxer. The 48-0 fighter, and greatest of our generation, is in action against Andre Berto. Round 1: A very jab-heavy opening round for Mayweather, who didn't move much, but stood in front of Berto and jabbed away. Nice job mixing in some lead left hooks as well. Mayweather's defense was good as always. Berto threw very, very little. This can't be his plan for the fight, or he's doomed. 10-9 Mayweather

Round 2: More aggressive round from Berto, which is good. He threw more punches, chasing Mayweather down at times, but he just couldn't connect, as Mayweather used head movement to avoid him. Still, he at least forced Mayweather to try this round, but it's still not close to enough. 10-9 Mayweather

Round 3: Three rounds in and this is a pretty typical Mayweather fight. Defense keeps working for him, with Berto landing nearly nothing in this round. Mayweather stumbled at one point and touched the mat, but it was correctly rules a slip. 10-9 Mayweather, 30-27 after 3.
