The UFC's final pay-per-view and penultimate event of 2015 just got another great fight added to its lineup for December 12th. UFC officials announced on Monday that women's strawweight contenders Michelle Waterson and Tecia Torres will fight each other at UFC 194 in Las Vegas, with the winner surely "in the mix" for a title shot. There is no word on whether or not Waterson vs. Torres will air on the PPV main card or on the Fox Sports 1 prelims.
Waterson (13-4) made her UFC debut a successful one against Angela Magana, winning by 3rd round rear-naked choke on the TUF 21 Finale in July. The "Karate Hottie" had previously reigned as Invicta's atomweight champion before she lost it to Herica Tiburcio, but has otherwise spent the bulk of her career at 115 lbs.
Torres (6-0) competed on season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter but lost to Randa Markos and Carla Esparza on the show. She won her official UFC debut with a dominant win over Magana, and then followed that up with a victory vs. Angela Hill at UFC 188. Astonishingly, her last 13 bouts (professional, amateur, and TUF) have all gone to a decision.
For the time being, UFC 194 is headlined by a featherweight championship unification bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, co-headlined by a middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold, and co-co-headlined by a middleweight #1 contender fight between Ronaldo Souza and Yoel Romero.
