Just days after requesting a fight against Nate Diaz, Khabib Nurmagomedov has decided that the fight is no longer one that interests him. In fact, he believes that accepting a fight against the Stockton native would be an insult to his fans.

"If I take a fight with [Nate] Diaz, then I won't get respect from my fans," Khabib said. "Everyone knows this is an easy fight for me."

During the live WSOF 22 broadcast, an all-out brawl broke out between Nick and Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had a beer thrown on in during the commotion. While the incident did not escalate, Diaz took to social media soon afterwards to target the Dagestani standout.

"Hey, f*** that n**** Khabib. He a bitch, he got slapped. BLAM! Open hand slap. BLAM! Bitch ass n**** goof. Nothin."

Soon afterwards, Khabib took to social media to release a statement on the events that took place at the WSOF event and even requested a fight against the younger Diaz brother.

"I've already asked for a fight with him [Nate] from the UFC bosses, but judging by the speed that Diaz ran, it is hard to believe that the fight will take place."

Now it appears that Khabib consider a fight with Diaz disrepsectul to his fans who only want to see him fight the best.

"I need to respect his fans," Khabib added."They want me to fight in fierce battles against the best opponents. I have to respect my fans and I will accept the challenge against only the best athletes."

Khabib is currently recovering from a knee injury and is unlikely to return to the Octagon before December.
