As reported by Combate, two rising prospects will clash on Brazilian soil when Gilbert Burns takes on Rashid Magomedov on November 7 at UFC Fight Night 77. The card will be headlined by the rubber match between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson.
Burns, an undefeated pupil and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach of The Phenom remains undefeated 10 fights into his professional career. He has compiled a three-fight win streak, with a decision win over Andreas Stahl and two submissions by armbar, as well as against Christos Giagos and Alex Oliveira, which earned him the Performance of The Night Bonus on both occasions.
More experienced than his opponent, Magomoedov already has 20 fights to his name and only one defeat by split decision to Magomedrasul 'Frodo' Khasbulaev back in 2010. The Russian also has a three fight win streak in the UFC, with two unanimous decisions over Tony Martin and Rodrigo Damm and a third round TKO over Elias Silverio. This fight will also mark the third time in a row Magomedov comes to Brazil for a fight.
So far, only one other fight has been reported to the card, which is Gleison Tibau vs. Abel Trujillo, but it is likely Burns and Magomedov land on the main card portion of the event.
