UFC 193: Manager says Holm will earn for Rousey fight

New, comments

Holly Holm's manager seems to have done a great job looking out for his fighter's interests ahead of her UFC 193 clash with Ronda Rousey.

Holly Holm might not be offering up much promotional heat for her scheduled November 15th bout with Ronda Rousey, but her manager Lenny Fresquez insists that she'll be on the receiving end of a considerable payday for the "Rowdy" bout.

Fresquez told Sherdog: "I can tell you that she will be making more than Cat Zingano [made at UFC 184]. I can tell you that."

Zingano earned a reported $100,000 for her 14-second submission loss to the champion. And since Holm earned over three times for her last fight what Zingano did in her number one contender's win over Amanda Nunes ($50,000 compared to $18,000), her pay bump stands to be impressive indeed.

None of this is to say that Fresquez is highly confident about Holm's chances. Echoing Holm's dead-woman-walking comments from last week, Fresquez admitted, "Of course there was hesitation on my part [when the UFC offered us the fight]. I asked them for one more fight and they said ‘No, this is the fight we would like you to take. We're under contract and they're our bosses."

Holm may walk away with a comfortable payday (though certainly nowhere near as comfortable as Rousey's own), but it seems like even Rousey's opponents are reluctant to pick against her these days.
