Ronda Rousey recently picked up another mainstream sponsor, signing a deal with Carl's Jr. The popular fast food chain has released their first commercial featuring the UFC bantamweight champion and you can watch the clip above. Here's the description of the advertisement:
"Ronda Rousey's most satisfying takedown has arrived. Introducing the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast Breakfast Sandwich with egg, cheese, and sausage between sweet Cinnamon French Toast. Only at Carl's Jr. and Hardee's. Show us how you #EatLikeYouMeanIt."
While I am personally not a fan how the ad was shot and produced, this sort of mainstream sponsorship is a big deal in combat sports and is a testament of how much of a cross-over star Rousey is.
Apart from Carl's Jr, Rousey also has an individual deal with Reebok, along with numerous sponsorships outside the Octagon such as Metro PCS, Monster Headphones, and Buffalo David Bitton and among others. While her income isn't available to the public, Forbes estimates that Rousey earned $3.5 million in the past year in sponsorships, and has her pegged as the 8th highest paid female athlete in the world.
Due to Lawler vs Condit being scrapped, Rousey is now currently set to face Holly Holm at UFC 193, which is several weeks earlier than the original booking.
