Fresh off a very impressive flying knee knockout of seasoned veteran Brad Pickett at UFC 189, undefeated bantamweight contender Thomas Almeida is already thinking about his next fight. Though he has not signed up for anything yet, the 24-year-old would like to be in the next Brazilian event on November 7, which will be in his hometown of Sao Paulo.
"Whoever the UFC puts in front of me, that's who I'll fight," Almeida told Sexto Round. "There's nowhere to run now, I'm in the top 10. If I could choose, I wouldn't want to fight a Brazilian, I'd rather fight a foreigner, especially if it's here in Sao Paulo. I would like to fight here on November 7. I told the UFC I'd be ready for any event, but it would be really nice if I could fight here at home."
Even though Almeida expressed he would fight anybody the UFC wants him to, he does think a fight against Bryan Caraway could be good, even if only for the attention he'll get from the media because he dates Miesha Tate.
"I think Bryan Caraway would be a cool fight. He's Miesha Tate's boyfriend or husband, I don't know. So there's already some interest from the media. I think that would get me more attention. Especially if it happens here in Sao Paulo. It would be cool to fight him."
So far in his career, Thomas Almeida has won all 20 of his professional MMA fights. In the UFC, he sports a 3-0 record, with wins over Tim Gorman, Yves Jabouin, and Brad Pickett.
