Ronaldo Souza just wants his title fight already. He's currently booked to take on Yoel Romero at UFC 194 in what looks to be a natural deciding bout for the next no. 1 contender. While speaking to Sportv, the Brazilian middleweight confessed he's tired of being always one fight away from the title and pointed out how things just never seem to go his way.
"It seems I'm always one fight away from the title fight. It's funny, I fought Mousasi and that was supposed to be a title eliminator. Then I was going to fight Romero and he got hurt, but a month later he was fighting Lyoto, which I thought was weird. But I'll be ready, I'll do some great work and I'll impress everybody."
As for the current title picture, which will have current champion Chris Weidman defending his belt against Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo prefers not to give a prediction as he feels both fighters are evenly matched.
"Both are about the same to me. Rockhold stole my Strikeforce belt, so I still have that stuck in my throat. Weidman has this whole ‘Brazilian Killer' thing, which I don't buy. Vinny Magalhaes finished him with a flying armbar and he lost to Andre Galvao at ADCC. And he will lose to me, as well."
Ronaldo Jacare will take on Yoel Romero at UFC 194, on December 12, in Las Vegas. Chris Weidman will also look to defend his belt against Luke Rockhold on the night's co-main event. The headliners will be featherweight champion Jose Aldo and interim featherweight champion, Conor McGregor.
