When a bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson was added to the TUF 22 Finale on December 11th, naturally it looked like a headlining fight. But with Khabib's camp not wanting to go five rounds, it was placed in the co-main spot. That still leaves the main event open, and it looks like Frankie Edgar will be filling that spot. He tweeted this out earlier today:
I got called out by max holloway and Jeremy Stephens. I will fight either on dec 11 Let's make it happen @danawhite @lorenzofertitta @ufc

Edgar (19-4-1, 13-4-1 UFC) has won four bouts in a row since dropping a decision to featherweight champion Jose Aldo, most recently defeating Urijah Faber by unanimous decision in May. Stephens called him out via Twitter earlier this month, wanting to fight him at UFC 194 on December 12th. Max Holloway called him out last night after his win over Charles Oliveira, wanting to fight him in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.
Of the two, Holloway sounds like the much better fight. It's also much more relevant. Holloway only fought for 90 seconds so he shouldn't have any problems being ready for early December, and that's a great five-rounder. Hopefully that's the direction the UFC goes in.
