The MMA Prospectus: UFC Saskatoon & meaningful losses

New, comments

Zane Simon & T.P. Grant return to talk everything in the world of MMA development and fighter evolution. This week we're focusing on the bright sparks fighting north of the border this weekend, including Max Holloway, Chad Laprise, Maryna Moroz, Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Frankie Perez, Nikita Krylov, Misha Cirkunov, and Elias Silverio. We're also going to be talking about fighters taking the long road to title contention and the losses it's okay for them to have.

What's this? It can't be fight week already! But it is. It's time to talk about the prospects on UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Oliveira, and there are a bunch of them. We have light heavyweight prospects for once, Misha Cirkunov and even Dan Jolly looks pretty able. We've got top strawweight prospect Maryna Moroz, as well as TUF Nations finalists Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Chad Laprise. And we've even got one of your standard issue interesting Jungle Fight champions in Elias Silverio. Oh, and I hear that Max Holloway kid is pretty good. On top of all that, and in tune with Holloway fighting Charles Oliveira, we're talking about derailing losses. What kind of bad fight can a prospect have and still look good, and what should really be concerning for them going forward.
