Max Holloway eyeing Conor McGregor rematch after UFC Fight Night 74

Surging featherweight contender Max Holloway feels he's ready for a rematch with The Notorious.

At just 23-years-old with 12 fights under the UFC banner, Max Holloway is shaping up to become one of MMA's most talented stars. The Hawaiian is currently riding a six-fight win streak and looks to propel into title-contendership with a win over Charles Oliveira this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 74. If the featherweight standout beats 'Bronx', he'd like a rematch with Conor McGregor.

Holloway lost to 'The Notorious' as a raw talent at 21-years-old in 2013 but feels he's now ready to take on the Irishman again to prove his worth.

"I can't sit over here and say he (McGregor) is not the real deal," Holloway said to MMA OddsBreaker. "He has been doing so much for the sport and doing awesome. At the end of the day, I want my rematch because I believe I can beat him. I believe I'm the best fighter in the world. That's my beliefs and that's what got me here."

Max Holloway is the only man to go the distance with McGregor in his UFC tenure, but the #5 ranked featherweight contender doesn't wear it as a badge of honour.

"I can't wait to rematch that guy. I'm not saying that when we fight again, I'm going to win and this and that, I'm just saying that — everybody was saying the first fight was good, and I should be happy I went to a decision with him. That's being happy in second place or being a loser. I don't want to be a loser, I want to be a winner. I work too hard to not be one"

Given the entertainment value of their first fight and the star power of Conor McGregor, Holloway believes a rematch with the Irishman would generate massive interest and hype.

"I want to rematch him and see how it goes. It should be great. The first fight was great, the second will be awesome. If UFC wants to talk numbers and their is big hype for McGregor vs. Holloway 2, let's see what happens."

Before 'Blessed' focuses on a rematch with McGregor, Holloway must first take out budding star, Charles Oliveira. Holloway vs. Oliveria will serve as the main event for UFC Fight Night 74, which goes down on August 23rd at the SasTel Centre in Saskatchewan, Canada.
