It was an intense staredown between UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Bethe Correia at the UFC 190 weigh-ins in Rio de Janeiro. Correia, whose trash talking has been relentless over the past several months, got in Rousey's face and started talking at her while her eyes bulged out. Here were their interview quotes post-staredown:
Correia: I know a lot of people aren’t rooting me, but I’m going to fight for all of Brazil.— MMAFighting.com (@MMAFighting) July 31, 2015
Rousey: You’re not going to be disappointed. You’re going to see the most devastating loss for Bethe and my best win.— MMAFighting.com (@MMAFighting) July 31, 2015
Surprisingly, the "Uh, vai morrer" chant normally reserved for foreign fighters was actually heard when Correia weighed in. Rousey got the significantly louder cheer than the Brazilian, which further confirms this is anything but an "away match" for the champion tomorrow night.
