Ludwig says Dillashaw is only one in Team Alpha Male who wants to be champ, camp responds

While praising his favorite student, Duane Ludwig took a bit of a dig at Team Alpha Male, and the members of the top gym aren't happy.

Duane Ludwig has had a bit of a rift with some of the members of Team Alpha Male since leaving last year to open his own gym in Colorado. Martin Kampmann has since been slotted as the new coach on the Sacramento-based camp but there are a few members of the gym still working with Ludwig.

One of the more notable ones is current UFC title holder T.J. Dillashaw, who according to Ludwig, is the only one in camp who wants to be a champion.

"He actually wants it. T.J. is the only one that actually wants to be a champion," Ludwig said on SiriusXM as transcribed by Sherdog. "T.J. trains a lot harder and a lot more focused than anybody else on that team -- period."

"There’s just certain people that want it more than others. He has a stronger drive, a stronger determination. He actually believes that he can be champion and he’s the one that puts in the extra work, asks the questions, trains a bit harder, takes less breaks," he said. "It was just a difference, if you see the whole Alpha Male team train, T.J. sticks out."

Other TAM products have received title shots as well, with Chad Mendes recently having two opportunities against Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Ludwig implies that with a few adjustments he would've seen and made, Mendes would be champion had he worked with him.

"I’ll tell you what: No one needs me, but everyone that works with me is going to do better with me than without me, that’s for sure," he said. "I feel with the proper camp (against McGregor), Chad could be wearing the belt right now. I felt that too when he fought Aldo the second time."

"Prior to the Aldo fight we didn’t work together. I went back to Colorado. The plan was he was supposed to come to Colorado and do some work. It just didn’t work out. There’s little things that Chad could be doing, and he could be wearing the belt right now."

After hearing this, several members from the camp have responded to Ludwig.

I think it's safe to say that Ludwig's relationship with several other Team Alpha Male members have truly deteriorated since the divorce.
