Fresh off a win over Alexander Volkov last Friday at Bellator 139, Cheick Kongo is already considering his next opponent. The heavyweight veteran told MMAJunkie yesterday that he's open to bouts with Kimbo Slice -- or Kevin Ferguson -- and former WWE star, Bobby Lashley:
"Honestly, I don't care about the opponent," Kongo said. Bobby Lashley or ‘Kimbo' would be interesting. I'm obviously open to it. But I don't want to waste my time.
If they give me Bobby, let's go for Bobby. If they give me ‘Kimbo,' OK, let's go for ‘Kimbo.' I'm not here to pick - I'm just here to fight the best."
Since departing from the UFC in 2013 after losing to Roy Nelson, Kongo has had mixed success in Bellator. The 40-year-old has amassed a 5-2 resume under the Bellator banner and came up short against heavyweight champion Vitaly Minakov at Bellator 115.
Kimbo Slice returned to the MMA sphere to face Ken Shamrock at Bellator 138, which saw the street fighting YouTube sensation crumple Shamrock in the first round. Bobby Lashley also found success on the main card; TKO'ing Dan Charles to earn his sixth consecutive win.
