The third UFC event in a week's span took place on Wednesday evening in San Diego and featured a decent fight card with a fair amount of action worthy of post-fight performance bonuses.
The main event of the evening lasted a total of 73 seconds and saw Frank Mir starch Todd Duffee with a thunderous left hook that sent the muscular heavyweight down like a sack of potatoes. It was another impressive upset win for Mir, who was coming off another KO win against Antonio Silva several months ago.
In the co-main event of the evening, Tony Ferguson and Josh Thompson took part in the thrilling fights on the San Diego broadcast to delight the crowd in attendance. It was a highly impressive showing from Ferguson, who dominated all three rounds to move his win record to six consecutive fights.
Alan Jouban managed to take a poor start to a bout and turn it into the Fight of the Night. Following a point deduction, Jouban turned it around in the following rounds, as he took an aggressive turn and landed several impressive, flashy strikes like a cartwheel kick to secure the decision win.
Performance of the Night: Frank Mir, Tony Ferguson
Fight of the Night: Alan Jouban vs Matt Dwyer
