It's been 24 hours since news of Jose Aldo pulling out of the Conor McGregor fight at UFC 189 was made public, and now we have x-rays of the injury that kept him from defending his featherweight title on July 11th. There are three sets of photos to go through, first from Canal Combate's Ana Hissa, who first reported Aldo's rib injury.

Those scans were provided by Aldo himself.

While Brazilian doctors initially said it was a fracture, the UFC wrote in a press release that Aldo had suffered a rib bruise, which sparked some hope that Aldo would still be able to fight at 189. But the evidence is there for all to see that Aldo did indeed sustain a fracture. Former NFL head team physician Dr. David Chao outlined where the break happened:

And so the mystery surrounding "was it broken or not?" is over. Aldo will be sidelined while McGregor fights Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight strap in just 10 days time.
