Two days before Saturday's title fight in the main event of UFC Fight Night Berlin, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk answered questions from the media during a lengthy scrum in Germany's capital.
One topic was, of course, the video of Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey, where the two UFC top stars are praising the 115-pound champion from Poland.
"I'm happy that I got that big supporters", says Jedrzejczyk, who already saw the video. "I like Ronda so much, I'm a big fan of Ronda, and Conor as well. They are amazing. I'm very happy, so thank you Ronda, thank you Conor."
The reporters also addressed the ongoing social media battle between Jedrzejczyk and Jessica Penne, who she will be fighting this Saturday. After Penne stated, she would submit Jedrzejczyk, the Polish champion posted a picture of penne pasta on her Twitter. Penne answered by comparing her to the Gollum from Lord of the Rings. But for Jedrzejczyk, it's all fun and games.
"No aggression, I like when people around me are smiling. So no trash talk. It's part of our job", said Jedrzejczyk. "It was funny. I posted a picture with the penne, she responds, it was funny. You are talking about (it), so it's the most important thing. Everybody is talking about UFC Berlin."
The champion didn't even take the Gollum comparison personal, feels, Penne made it because she "is afraid". She also broke down her fight on Saturday.
"She's number three in the UFC ranking, so I'm very happy that I can fight with a good opponent. She is very dangerous for me, but, you know, I'm a champion so I'm gonna win this fight."
She also fires a few verbal shots to Claudia Gadelha and Jessica Aguilar, talks about the Reebok deal, and much more. You can watch the whole media scrum above.
