Henry Cejudo has won an Olympic gold medal for wrestling for the US, but on his UFC 188 bout, he embraced his Mexican heritage. As he walked out to his UFC 188 bout, he was fully dressed as an Aztec warrior outfit with Aztec drums playing as his intro music. While this portion wasn't televised for many as it was on commercial break while it was happening, you can still catch a glimpse of the walk out above.
"In America, I'm known as the Golden boy. Here, I want to be known as the Aztec warrior," he said following the fight.
Cejudo defeated Chico Camus as the featured prelim of UFC 188, and he earned a hard fought unanimous decision after 15 minutes of action. Despite being a massive favorite, Camus was able to hold his own for majority of their bout. In the end though, it was the decorated wrestler who picked up another win to improve to 9-0.
Following the contest, Cejudo cited a 'bad taco' which led to him dealing with food poisoning during fight week which almost led him to dropping out of the fight.
