M-1 Challenge light-heavyweight champion Stephan Puetz managed to prevail over heavyweight kingpin Marcin Tybura in the organization's first-ever champion vs. champion super fight, at M-1 Challenge 57 in Orenburg, Russia last Saturday.

In the first two rounds, it looked like Tybura had the perfect strategy against the powerful and bigger German; clinching him against the ropes, taking him to the ground and attacking him with submissions there. But Puetz pushed trough it and made a strong comeback in the third round, where he wobbled the heavyweight champ with stiff uppercuts and knees, that ultimately crushed Tybura's nose and led to a stoppage by the ringside physician.

In the evening's co-main event, BAMMA champion Mansour Barnaoui managed to make a successful return to the ring after a 1,5-year layoff and defeated M-1 lightweight titleholder Maxim Divnich in a great display of heart. Right from the start, both fighters traded wild shots, with Barnaoui being rocked several times. He survived and fought back on instinct until he made a vicious comeback at the end of the first round and stopped Divnich with solid ground and pound, to add another prestigious championship to his collection.
