UFC Fight Night 67: Condit vs. Alves live results and play-by-play for preliminary card

Bloody Elbow will provide live updates and analysis for the UFC Fight Night card from Goiania, Brazil. The featured prelim bout will see Darren Jackson taking on Rony Jason.

UFC Fight Night 67 is set to go down in Goiania, Brazil tonight with a welterweight slugfest on top. Former UFC interim champ Carlos Condit will make his long-awaited return from injury to face off with veteran Thiago Alves.

We'll cover all the preliminary card action in this post. There will be two fights that air exclusively on UFC Fight Pass, which kick off at 7pm ET/4pm PT. Things will then switch over to Fox Sports 1 at 8pm ET/5pm PT for four more bouts.

The featured preliminary card bout takes place in the featherweight division, with TUF Brazil 1 winner Rony Jason taking on Damon Jackson. The rest of the prelims feature mostly prospects, but also include a very important flyweight bout that could determine a future title challenger.

Tom Breese vs. Luiz Dutra

Round 1 - A bit of hand-holding to start. Body shot, then a kick from Dutra. They tied up and exchanged knees. Two elbows over the top from Dutra. They finally separate. Head kick from Breese. Dutra looked for a takedown in the clinch against the cage. Uppercut just missed for Dutra. Hard body kick from Breese. Uppercut scores that time. Very hard leg kick from Breese, but Dutra responded with a body shot and a knee. Breese with a brief trip but couldn't do anything with it. Another big leg kick. Breese with a huge left that drops Dutra! He jumped on him and pounded him out. Wow, that came out of nowhere.

Ericka Almeida vs. Juliana Lima

Round 1 - They went to the ground pretty quickly, with Lima trying to tie Almeida up. She locked on a reverse triangle grip, but transitioned to working from the top. She landed some damaging punches in Almeida's full guard. Almeida finally rolled through but Lima looked for a leglock. That didn't work so she went back to the top. Lima stood up out of guard and landed a few more punches. 10-9 Lima.

Round 2 - Lima ran straight into a punch, but immediately got a takedown again. She didn't even look to pass. Almeida tried to posture up for something but Lima shut her down. Lima finally landed one big punch almost four minutes into the round. She's doing enough to not get stood up, but it's not the most exciting style. And right as I say that, they get stood up. Lima gets the Thai clinch and lands some knees. She dragged her back down before the horn. 10-9 Lima.

Round 3 - Left connects for Lima. They stared at each other for a while. Lima with a counter right. Almeida with her own counter right after a leg kick. Almeida looking for the home run shot but coming up way short. Counter right from Lima again. Straight right scores for Almeida and Lima calls her in. Then backs away. Lima with a takedown. She just rode out the round on top without doing much. 10-9 and 30-27 Lima.

Mirsad Bektic vs. Lucas Martins

Round 1 - Both men came out chucking knuckles. Martins scored with a nice right, but was scooped up and emphatically slammed to the mat. Bektic scored with a few punches while Martins tried to crawl away. His face is already busted up. Bektic kept up the pressure and wrapped up a leg. Martins was able to get back to his feet though. Both score with winging lefts. Bektic with another takedown. Martins is trying but Bektic is all over him. Bektic looked for a late choke but couldn't get it before the horn. 10-8 Bektic.

Round 2 - Bektic came out and landed a huge shot that dropped Martins immediately. Bektic went back to mauling him on the ground, forcing the referee to stop the bout. Wow. Lucas Martins looks like a truck hit him.

Nicolas Dalby vs. Elizeu Zaleski

Round 1 - Dalby with a couple of hard leg kicks. And another. Dos Santos threw a wild overhand right. He connects with a right hook and that backed Dalby off. Dalby with a nice takedown. Aaaaand the get stood up almost immediately. Thanks bad referee. Hard body kick from Dalby. Dos Santos misses with a spinning heel kick and fell down. Dalby jumped into his guard. Dos Santos quickly worked his way to his feet. Another nice takedown from Dalby. 10-9 Dalby.

Round 2 - Dos Santos stepped in and cracked Dalby. They were both throwing heavy leather. Dos Santos ripping him with leg kicks. Solid counter from EZDS. Dalby tied him up against the cage. Jumping spinning crescent kick from Dos Santos, wow. That got the crowd excited. Low blow stops the action. Dos Santos is spinning more than Alex Shlemenko right now. Left hook connects for Dos Santos. Late takedown attempt from Dalby. 10-9 Dos Santos.

Round 3 - Dos Santos scores with a counter right and a knee. They clinch up and exchange knees. Jumping knee and an uppercut from EZDS. Dalby trying to pressure but he's eating counters. Hard knees to the body in the clinch from Dos Santos. Dalby latched onto EZDS' back and eventually got a takedown. Dos Santos used a kimura attempt to reverse position. Dalby pushed off and got up. 10-9 and 29-28 Dos Santos on my card.

Jussier Formiga vs. Wilson Reis

Round 1 - Reis scored with a body kick but Formiga threw him to the mat. He wasn't able to jump into his guard though and Reis got up. Slow start on the feet. Leg kick from Reis. Left hook from Reis. Formiga with one of his own. Inside leg kick from Formiga. Right hook may have wobbled Formiga, but he could have just slipped. Not much in the way of combos from either man. Counter right from Formiga. Tough to score, but I'll lean Formiga slightly.

Round 2 - Formiga's counter right came into play early as he dropped Reis with it. Reis immediately looked for a leglock. They scrambled and Formiga took his back, where he's usually deadly. But Reis shook him off and worked from the top. Fun scramble. Formiga eventually got up and they worked against the cage. Reis caught another right counter as he tried to throw a kick. Reis with an emphatic takedown but Formiga got back to his feet immediately. Reis looked for a trip takedown in the clinch but was tripped himself instead. Reis immediately went for a leg lock and used it to escape. 10-9 Formiga.

Round 3 - Measured start to the final round. Reis has a takedown attempt stuffed. They stall out against the cage. Reis with some dirty boxing. Formiga finally circles out. Jumping knee from Reis, very nice. Formiga exclusively looking to counter now but Reis isn't throwing. They're staring at each other. They tied up against the fence again. Reis is grinding but accomplishing little. The ref separated them with 40 seconds to go. Formiga tripped Reis and took his back immediately. He opened up with some punches. 10-9 and 30-27 Formiga.

Damon Jackson vs. Rony Jason

Round 1 - Flying knee from Jason right away but Jackson tied him up. Hard body kick from Jason but Jackson caught it and took him down. Jackson moved him over to the cage and scored with a few elbows. Jason got partially to his feet, but put a hand down right as Jackson clubbed him with a knee. Which was illegal. The referee apparently wasn't a fan of it though, because he restarted them right away. Jackson got a takedown but Jason reversed and looked for an armbar. He secured a triangle. Jackson tried to roll away but couldn't. He was forced to tap.
