ROUND 1 RECAP:
The fight starts in a distinctly Mayweather vibe. Pacquiao does not come out fast, letting Floyd set the pace. The two stay center ring for most of the round, with Mayweather landing two heavy right hands. Manny traps him in the corner late, but Floyd escapes with no damage. Low output from Pacquiao, which is no good. 10-9 Mayweather
This fight is seven years in the making, with the top two fighters of the modern era finally meeting in the ring. Mayweather comes in undefeated. He is just three fights away from realizing his long stated goal of a 50-0 record. Pacquiao has a few losses under his belt, including a notable KO loss from 2 years back to Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao is 3-0 since that KO.
Most analysts favor Mayweather in the fight based primarily on his defensive skills. He was also the betting favorite, though not by a wide margin.
