Holly Holm vs. Marion Reneau in the works for San Diego card

An important women's bantamweight fight is in the works for the July 15th card in San Diego.

The UFC's July 15th Fight Night card in San Diego looks to be adding a second women's bantamweight fight. And with all due respect to Jessica Andrade and Sarah Moras, this bout is the more important of the two for the division. According to UFC Tonight, Holly Holm and Marion Reneau could be tangling at the event:

Holm (8-0, 1-0 UFC) was widely viewed as a future challenger for bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey when she came in, but those expectations were tempered somewhat by her split-decision victory over Raquel Pennington in her UFC debut. Still though, in a division without a ton of contenders, a big win for Holm could slingshot her into that spot.

The same goes for Reneau (6-1, 2-0 UFC), who is coming off a submission win over Andrade in February. After being told by UFC president Dana White that she was "too old" to be on TUF, she has rattled off two straight wins and looked very impressive doing it.

The main event of the San Diego card will take place in the heavyweight division, with Frank Mir taking on Todd Duffee.
