After years of anticipation, boxing's great superfight is nearly upon us. On Saturday, May 2nd, Floyd Mayweather will enter the sold out MGM Grand to face Filipino legend Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. While this is the fight fans have been anxiously awaiting, for the last decade some members of the combat sports community have raised concerns about Floyd Mayweather and his arrogant persona.

Speaking exclusively to Bloody Elbow, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Tom DeBlass, explains his opinions on how Mayweather is missing a golden opportunity to use his notoriety to facilitate social change.

"Floyd is undoubtedly an amazing boxer, one of the best ever. However, he is not an amazing person. He's in a position to change the world yet his arrogance and selfishness diminishes that. He has millions of people looking at him and could be such a positive influence on so many children's lives, yet he chooses not to. To me this is a tragedy. There is so much more to life than making money - I believe a part of him sells his soul for that. I also heard his comments about MMA which were totally delusional. Let's be real, if Floyd didn't KO Ronda the first 30 seconds chances are she takes him down and submits him. A blue belt with wrestling will take Floyd down and terrorize him. These are just facts."

DeBlass isn't the first martial artist to speak out about Mayweather over the last few weeks. Demetrious Johnson spoke openly about how he would destroy the boxing champ within 15 seconds, while featherweight title contender Conor McGregor has been trading insults with the pound-for-pound boxing great in recent days.

Tom DeBlass' preparations for this years Abu Dhabi Combat Club's Submission Grappling World Championships begins in July, when he faces current champion Joao Assis, at Submission Series Pro.
