Two more match-ups have been booked for the June 25 UFC on FOX 16 card headlined by the bantamweight championship rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao. As FOX Sports reports, Russian sambo champion Rustam Khabilov will square-off against Team Alpha Male's Danny Castillo and TUF 13 finalist Ramsey Nijem will faceTae-Kwon-Do specialist Erik Koch.
Khabilov and Castillo are both coming off two losses. Khabilov was choked out by former division champion Ben Henderson in June and gave up a close decision against Adriano Martins in February. He debuted in the UFC in 2012 and quickly became a fan-favorite due to his spectacular suplex-heavy wrestling style. Castillo came up short in a close decision to Tony Ferguson last August, and fell victim to a flashy spinning-back fist knockout, courtesy of Paul Felder in January. Castillo is a long-time WEC and UFC veteran, though, and has faced the toughest competition in his weight class throughout his career, including former champion Anthony Pettis, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza and others.
Nijem and Koch also need a win and have both been stopped in their last fight. After winning two in a row, Nijem lost to former Legacy FC champion Carlos Diego Ferreira in a Fight-of-the-Night affair in August. Koch missed weight for his last fight against Beneil Dariush in May and eventually got submitted in the second round. Koch has only won one of his last four fights in the UFC.
UFC on FOX 16 takes place June 25 in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to the headliner Dillashaw vs. Barao, Anthony Pettis will take on Myles Jury, while Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye will find the next number-one contender for Ronda Rousey's bantamweight title.
