Edson Barboza has only one thought in his mind: getting back in the win column after a unanimous decision loss to Michael Johnson in his home country last February. And he already knows who he wants his next opponent to be - former title challenger, Nate Diaz.
"I think that is a good fight. I would accept it right now with a big smile on my face" He told MMA Junkie. "I need to fight. It doesn't matter who it is or their rank. I just need to fight because I lost my last one. I'm focusing on coming back stronger and winning. Everybody knows I didn't perform well that night. I wasn't the best Edson Barboza. I was very angry because I'm better than I was that night."
However, Barboza likes to keep his options open, so he's also considering a drop in weight class since he feels rather undersized at lightweight.
"I know most lightweights are bigger than me. Today, I weight 175 pounds. That's very light. If they give me a good opportunity, I would move down, because making 155 is really easy for me."
Barboza (15-3) is 9-3 in the UFC overall and currently sits in the seven spot in the UFC lightweight rankings.
