Chael Sonnen won't rule out a Brock Lesnar UFC comeback

Brock Lesnar may have signed a new WWE contract , but that doesn't mean he couldn't still come back to the UFC if he wants to, says former UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen.

When former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar announced last week that he has signed a new contract with WWE, many felt he closed the door on a potential Octagon return for good. Chael Sonnen doesn't.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, the retired UFC veteran explains that Lesnar resigning with the world's leading pro wrestling organization has been "pretty obvious" to him, but that he "played it the best way he could to make it believe like he was going to come back to fighting."

However, Sonnen feels that this new multi-year WWE contract doesn't rule out that we could potentially see Lesnar back in the UFC one day.

"Just because he signed with them doesn't mean he can't still go to the UFC," Sonnen said. "Dana White and Vince McMahon have worked hand-in-hand before. That's actually how Vince got Brock this most recent time, is Dana released him to him. Dana can get done about anything he wants. He's a very clever guy."

So does that mean that Sonnen believes, Lesnar will return to the Octagon anytime soon? No, says the "American Gangster", but makes clear that Brock Lesnar can do anything he wants, if he wants.

"I think what we see is what we get," Sonnen said. "I think Brock's time in the octagon is done, but Brock's a presence. He's a fun guy, and if he wants to come back, I'm sure he could."
