Well that one went the way most thought it would. Chris Camozzi showed a lot of stones stepping up to fight top middleweight contender Ronaldo Souza on under a weeks notice. He had already been submitted by him once, and it didn't look like a very winnable fight.
But he did take the fight at UFC on Fox 15. And he got submitted again.
Souza took the fight to Camozzi immediately, landing a couple of hard punches and getting a takedown. From there, it was nighty night. Jacare deftly advanced position and got onto Camozzi's arm. Camozzi briefly used his legs to defend himself, but Souza would not be denied and secured the armbar. Camozzi tapped before it was even stretched out, and rightly so. He was dead to rights.
Souza (22-3, 1 NC) picked up his fifth UFC win and eighth overall. He was supposed to meet Yoel Romero on this card, and it'll be interesting to see if the promotion goes back to that bout or goes ahead and gives him a title shot.
