Three bouts are in the books at UFC on Fox 15, and they all played out in drastically different ways. The first bout of the night went to a controversial decision, while the second was stopped by a bleeding ear. The final Fight Pass bout saw one side dominate affairs and eventually win by submission. Here's how it all went down.
Sullivan was able to get some offense in here and there, but was mostly at the receiving end of strikes from Means. He landed a beautiful spinning elbow at the end of the first and had his opponent hurt and tired by the end of the second. In the third he was able to secure an arm-triangle and get the submission win.
Means fielded questions after the fight:
The two men engaged in a very technical and fun grappling match in the first and the fight was close. However, a Brandao elbow to Hettes' cauliflower ear opened a large cut, which led to a referee stoppage. It didn't seem like something that could impede his ability to fight, but it didn't matter. Brandao was given the TKO victory.
This wasn't a very good fight. It seemed that Gordon got the best of the first two rounds, outstriking Dempsey by a large margin and splitting takedowns with him in the latter stanza. The third was Dempsey's, but the judges ended up giving him the second as well to award him the controversial decision.
