Eight years following arguably one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, Mirko Cro Cop was able to avenge that loss to Gabriel Gonzaga in a Fight of the Night winner during the main event of UFC Krakow in Poland.
Check out Dallas Winston's play-by-play for the third round:
CroCop evades an early takedown attempt. Gonzaga locks horns and puts CroCop on the fence but can't complete the double leg. Gonzaga lands a heavy knee to the body and CroCop creates enough space to squeeze off his best flurry of the fight. Another short-range burst from CroCop, then a cleaving horizontal elbow that puts Gonzaga on roller-skates. CroCop swarms Gonzaga with a flurry, riskily following him down to the canvas and into his guard.
Good posture from CroCop as he pummels Gonzaga with some utterly vicious ground-and-pound that hearkens back to the good ol' days. CroCop keeps his foot on the gas and batters the bloodied Gonzaga with a torrent of lefts, and the ref steps in to wave it off.
