Mark Munoz's retirement bout set for UFC: Manila against Luke Barnatt

New, comments

Mark Munoz will be returning to cage for a fight in the Philippines. His opponent will be Luke Barnatt.

Less than two weeks after his UFC 184 bout, and Mark Munoz already has another fight booked. As sources told BloodyElbow.com on Monday night, the Filipino-American fighter will be competing at the UFC's first event in Manila and it will be against Luke Barnatt.

Munoz lost to Roan Carneiro in less than two minutes by submission. With neither man landing any strikes and taking any damage, Munoz was just medically suspended for 7 days and allowed him to return in relatively short notice for a homecoming of sorts.

'The Filipino Wrecking Machine' has lost 3 straight, and has dropped his overall record to 13-6.

Barnatt is also coming off a rough stretch as of late, dropping split decisions to Sean Strickland and Roger Narvaez. The towering 6-foot-6 middleweight is 8-2 in his career, going 3-2 with the UFC after a stint in the Ultimate Fighter.

Munoz is in the Philippines to announce the inclusion to the card headlined by Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber.

UPDATE: The UFC staff in Manila have since made the bout official along with another contest between Singaporean Royston Wee, and TUF: China winner Ning Guangyou.

Munoz has also stated that win or lose, this will be his last bout.
