Matt Mitrione is well-known as a guy that speaks his mind. It has gotten him in trouble in the past, but the UFC heavyweight keeps telling it like it is, whether we agree with him or not. In a recent episode of The Fighter and the Kid podcast (which is co-hosted by former Mitrione opponent Brendan Schaub), Mitrione turned his attention towards Alistair Overeem. It seems that Meathead isn't a big fan of his former teammate (via Fox Sports):
"I just don't like Overeem. I'd like to see him lose. I don't like him as a human being. He is a smug, arrogant man. He came to the Blackzilians and ostracized himself almost immediately."
...
"He's such a prima donna that he really thinks that people care about what he does and how he does it. He'd come in and work out at, like, 11:30 at night so nobody else could see what he was doing."
Mitrione also described Overeem as someone who is vain and preoccupied with looking like a super hero. So he says that he used to mess with Overeem about it:
"I told him, 'God, you look like you're losing weight, man. What's going on with you?'
He'd be like, 'No, no, I'm 275.'"
Mitrione (9-3, 9-3 UFC) will look to extend a three-fight winning stream when he takes on another guy that he has trained with in the past, Ben Rothwell, at UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans on June 6th.
