Cris Cyborg responds to Rener Gracie’s comments: ‘I have no grandfather name to live off’

Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino responds to Rener Gracie’s public comments that she is given “too much credit.”

Monday's edition of The MMA Hour saw Rener Gracie make an appearance to discuss women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey's remarkable 14-second submission at UFC 184. It began as a regular interview until Rener decided to incorporate a comparison to Cris ‘Cyborg' Justino.

Instead of focusing his examples on Rousey, Rener went off on a tangent about how Cyborg is an overrated fighter that relies primarily on strength and brute force instead of savvy techniques and fluid motions.

"I think people are giving Cris ‘Cyborg' more credit than she deserves, in the sense of beating Ronda," Rener told The MMA Hour, "No offense to her, she's obviously an amazing athlete and has done amazingly well in MMA, and from what I hear, is a great person, as well. This is just me personally, I know what it feels like to roll with a very athletic, strong person."

Once she was made aware of Rener's comments, Cyborg took to The Underground to offer an emotional response.
