2015 NCAA Wrestling Finals Live Thread: Chris Weidman's coach takes the championship

The Ohio State University, led by head coach Tom Ryan, has won its first NCAA wrestling team title. Before Ryan took the head coaching job at Ohio State, he ran the wrestling program at Long Island's Hofstra University. For two years during his time at Hofstra, Ryan coached current UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman.

This marks the second time the former coach of a current UFC weight class champion has served as head coach for a national champion NCAA Division I wrestling team in the same year (the first was Oklahoma State's John Smith while Randy Couture reigned as light heavyweight champion in 2005)

Though Ohio State has clinched the team championship, ten individual crowns remain up for grabs. The ten finals matches appear as follows.

Nathan Tomasello (Ohio St.) vs Zeke Moisey (West Virginia) 31-13

Cody Brewer (Oklahoma) 21-1 vs Cory Clark (Iowa) 30-5

Logan Stieber (Ohio St.) 28-0 vs Mitchell Port (Edinboro)

Drake Houdashelt (Missouri) 36-1 vs David Habat (Edinboro) 36-2

Isaiah Martinez (Illinois) 33-0  vs Brian Realbuto (Cornell) 23-2

Alex Dieringer (Oklahoma St.) 33-0 vs  Taylor Walsh (Indiana) 38-5

Tyler Wilps (Pittsburgh) 19-3 vs Matthew Brown (Penn St.) 28-3

Gabriel Dean (Cornell) 43-2 vs Nathaniel Brown (Lehigh) 29-5

Kyle Snyder (Ohio St.) 30-3 vs Kyven Gadson (Iowa St.) 29-1
