Oops! The UFC's listing for 'Athlete Relations Coordinator' is NOT for Burt Watson's position

The UFC recently parted ways with Burt Watson, and the position isn't on their job listings yet.

*Editorial Note*

Apparently, the job listing for "Athlete Relations Coordinator" is not the role that Burt Watson filled, despite the similarity in title and role. UFC representative, Dave Sholler alerted me to my mistake via Twitter. Sholler states that Watson's role was "Site Coordinator" and not fighter relations. When asked if they have a listing up for Watson's title, Dave replied with a simple, "no." and has not replied to further questions about creating a listing for that position. Bloody Elbow and I apologize for the error.

The exchange can be read HERE.

@CrooklynMMA that's not a job posting for that role, Stephie. Completely different job. Cc: @BloodyElbow

@CrooklynMMA @BloodyElbow the role BW filled was site coordinator. Completely different job than the one you listed. Completely.

@CrooklynMMA @BloodyElbow no.

For those that previously surmised that Watson's verbal dispute was with Mr. Sholler, he has stated in a previous tweet that he was not the person in question:

@fraz1001 no. I haven't spoken to him since Thursday of 184 week.

"We rollin!" was the signature catch-phrase former UFC player relations manager, Burt Watson was known for. Having worked for the organization for well over a decade, and endearing himself to fans across the globe, it came as no surprise that the company started giving him more spotlight over the last couple years, and he became one of the few behind-the scenes-employees that was featured prominently in the official videos, vlogs and most visibly, at the weigh-ins. Long-time commentator, Joe Rogan dubbed him the "babysitter to the stars" and Watson was even recognized for his long-standing service with the Fighter's Only Lifetime Achievement award this past January.

In an unfortunate turn of events stemming from a verbal altercation, Watson resigned his position amid a flurry of rumors. Speculation was rampant that he'd had a run-in with a fighter on the UFC 184 card, and the two names at the top of the list were current women's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey and current middleweight staple, Mark Munoz. After several days, Watson confirmed that he did have an argument that led to his leaving the company, but it was with another staffer, not a fighter.

Now, the position Watson filled with such engaging panache, is officially open and available for qualified persons to apply for. The skills and experience criteria isn't as rigid as one might think, and the benefits package that comes with the position is a unique one, with surprise perks that would appeal to most fans.
