We're five fights into UFC 185, and all of them have been finished via TKO or submission. The two bouts that opened the televised prelims saw Beneil Dariush and Jared Rosholt pick up wins in varying levels of excitement. This is how it all went down.
Beneil Dariush defeated Daron Cruickshank by submission (rear naked choke), 2:48 of round two
Cruickshank showed off his flashy striking game early but ate a lot of kicks from his opponent, and that seemed to wear him down quickly. Dariush opened the second round looking to grapple and managed to take Cruickshank's back in a bit of an unusual position. He made the most of it though, eventually transitioning to lock up a rear naked choke, which Cruickshank tapped to immediately. The win was Dariush's third in a row.
Jared Rosholt defeated Josh Copeland by TKO (strikes), 3:12 of round 3
Copeland actually hurt Rosholt with a big shot late in the first round, but that was about it in terms of offense for him. Rosholt used his typical grinding game to wear Copeland down, and finally got the TKO finish with a little under two minutes left in the fight. The bout was plodding at best, but put Rosholt back in the win column after a bad loss to Oleksiy Oliynyk in his last outing.
