Nick Diaz hints at retirement following UFC 183 loss

New, comments

Former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account, which could be seen as a hint regarding his retirement from professional MMA.

Last Saturday, Nick Diaz stepped into the octagon against one of the most intimidating competitors in UFC history, and went five rounds against him. It was not the most entertaining of fights overall, but few could deny Diaz's strategy against former kingpin Anderson Silva. He managed to go the distance with a former champion, but still found himself staring down the barrel of a 3-fight losing streak with the promotion.

As usual, following the event, Diaz was cryptic about whether he would fight for the UFC again. He refused to offer a clear response when asked by commentator Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview, but he did post a recent picture on Instagram that may offer a hint as to the decision he is leaning towards.

While the photograph selected was far from telling, Diaz's choice of hashtags was far more interesting. The former title challenger added the hashtag #dunfighting, which could be viewed as 'done fighting.'
