It may shock you, but there's been a change to an upcoming UFC card because of an injury. Manny Gamburyan has been forced out of his April 18th UFC on Fox 15 bantamweight showdown against rising prospect Aljamain Sterling. Since his UFC return in 2011, this is the 5th time that Gamburyan has pulled out of a fight citing injury. In Gamburyan's place is a top 10 bantamweight in Takeya Mizugaki, who actually ends up being a bigger step up in competition for Sterling than the original opponent. Fox Sports first broke the news latst night.
Mizugaki (20-8-2) is coming off a violent and one-sided knockout loss to Dominick Cruz at UFC 178, which halted his winning streak at five. The former WEC title challenger is ranked 7th in the latest poll released by the UFC on Monday. Sterling (10-0) is one of the sport's best up-and-coming talents, and the 25-year-old has looked sensational inside the Octagon. The Long Island native has scored wins over Cody Gibson and Hugo Viana.
