Knuckle Up #380: Watching Silva vs Diaz was like watching a horror film

New, 25 comments

Bloody Elbow's literary gunslinger Eugene S. Robinson lends his "one"-of-a-"kind" "perspective" to putting all of that manic mania to the side in favor of his depressive and unyieldingly existential take on UFC 183 and how it felt like watching a friend's funeral. An Irish funeral though. With many reasons to celebrate, as well as sob. And get drunk. Mostly.

In Round #380 king of king, lord of lords, prince of the power of the parkway and KNUCKLE UP host EUGENE S. ROBINSON [with the "S" standing for "Stelazine"] delivers an exceedingly downbeat assessment to counter all of the congratulatory back chatter about ANDERSON SILVA and NICK DIAZ's return seeing instead men at serious existential crossroads of life, time, ability and interest. Which is to say he thinks you all are stone cold fools for seeing what you want to see instead of what was there to see: enough fear, failure and panic to make you think he's gone off of his meds. Especially when you consider the kicker: "the fights were great too though!"

An intervention is in the offing.

Eugene S. Robinson host of Knuckle Up and author of Fight: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Ass-Kicking but Were Afraid You'd Get Your Ass Kicked for Asking [Harper Collins], A LONG SLOW SCREW [Robotic Boot] and a play called THE INIMITABLE SOUNDS OF LOVE; A THREESOME IN FOUR ACTS [Southern] also sings for a band called OXBOW and appeared in Bill Cosby's Leonard Part 6 (and yes, a Cosby story is in the works), a Miller Genuine Draft commercial, and had his own TV show in Germany called? "The Eugene Robinson Show."
