Another UFC event, another last minute cancellation. For the 3rd time in a month, a scheduled preliminary card bout has been called off either the day of or the day before the event. MMA Junkie confirms that featherweight Nik Lentz is out of his fight with newcomer Levan Makashvili due to suffering from flu-like symptoms. Doctors ruled him not fit to fight tomorrow night.

Last-minute fight cancellations due to illness have been a little more frequent than usual in recent months. Lentz had his September meeting with Charles Oliveira cancelled when Oliveira, who had missed weight, was ill and couldn't fight the next day. Last November, Ian McCall pulled out of a co-main event in Brazil vs. John Lineker after he fell ill. In December, a bout with food poisoning forced Derek Brunson versus Ed Herman off a FOX card in Phoenix and instead to UFC 183. Then at UFC 183 on January 31st, Jimy Hettes was sick and subsequently hospitalized, which meant his clash with Diego Brandao had to be nixed.

As a result of Lentz's illness, UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Thatch will only have 10 fights. The Fight Pass opener between James Moontasri and Cody Pfister has been bumped to the Fox Sports 1 broadcast, meaning there will be no live prelims broadcast on Fight Pass.
