Bloody Elbow 2015 Year-End MMA Awards - Best Knockout

Make your pick for the knockout of the year in 2015 in Bloody Elbow's Year-End Awards.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

It's back!

Over the next few days, Bloody Elbow is going to ask for your opinion on some of the best things that have happened in the MMA world over the course of 2015. There will be a total of eight nine different categories you'll be asked to vote on. For the sake of simplicity we're going to stick with high-level and relevant MMA stuff in these posts. While I'm sure there was a ludicrous knockout in an unscheduled MMA event at The Lumberyard strip club in Des Moines, or an insane pancreas lock submission on an obscure ZST! card in Japan, let's just stick to stuff a lot of us have seen, okay? (If that spiel looked familiar, it's because I've used the same one for five years in a row. Originality? What originality?)

It's pretty simple. I'll post 5-10 options in a category, you vote for what you think was the best. If you think I left something really important off my list, post it in the comments and we can add it to the poll if it's deemed worthy. I can almost guarantee you won't like all my suggestions, but narrowing down these lists is tough.

You can still vote on the first seven categories -  Best Submission, Biggest Debacle, Biggest Upset, Biggest Robbery, Rookie of the Year, Best Fighter, and Best Event.

This category is pretty self-explanatory - best knockout.  Here are the nominees.

Jeremy Stephens' flying knee stops Dennis Bermudez, UFC 189 - One of the best flying knee KOs you'll ever see.

Paul Felder drops Danny Castillo with a spinning back fist, UFC 182 - Absolutely vicious spinning backfist sent Last Call into lala land.

Makwan Amirkhani starches Andy Ogle in eight seconds, UFC on Fox 14 - Amirkhani ran across the cage with a flying knee that staggered Ogle, then clubbed him with an uppercut and some punches for the improbable quick finish.

Hisaki Kato flattens Joe Schilling, Bellator 139 - A pseudo-Superman punch ended Schilling's night with a thud. Video

Uriah Hall stops Gegard Mousasi with a spinning back kick and flying knee, UFC Fight Night 75 - After getting dominated for a round, Mousasi leaned right into a vicious spin kick, then right into a flying knee. That spelled doom. Video

Thomas Almeida's flying knee KOs Brad Pickett, UFC 189 - The two men engaged in one of the rounds of the year early before Almeida caught Pickett leaning in with a beautiful flying knee early in the second to finish the fight.

Conor McGregor finishes Jose Aldo in 13 seconds, UFC 194 - The fight was over before it really started, thanks to the precise hands of Mystic Mac. Video

Holly Holm ends Ronda Rousey with a head kick, UFC 193 - We've all seen this one a million times by now. After rocking Rousey early in the second, she flattened her and took her title with a head kick early in the second.

Stephen Thomson stops Jake Ellenberger with a spinning hook kick, TUF 21 Finale - He had already dropped him with one, and the second one stopped the fight.

Thiago Santos' head kick finish of Steve Bosse, UFC Fight Night 70 - One vicious kick and that was all she wrote for The Boss.
